About RunPace
RunPace is a running pace calculator made in Norway. No account, no sign-in, no cookies — and every calculation happens in your browser.
The site exists because most pace calculators on the web are heavy, full of ads, and make you fill in a form before they give you an answer. What is actually needed is two numbers and a table.
What you will find here
- Pace calculator — pace and speed on two linked wheels, with finish times for every common distance
- Split calculator — set a distance and a goal time, get the pace you need and a table of clock times per kilometre
- Pace charts — ready-made lookups for marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, unit conversion and the treadmill
How the numbers are worked out
Every chart on the site is generated from the same formulas the calculator uses, not typed in by hand. A lookup in a chart and a drag on the wheel always give the same answer.
Race time predictions use Riegel's formula, the same method as in the iOS app.
Technical
runpace.no is static files with no backend and no third-party tracking scripts. The site can be added to your home screen and used full screen without the browser interface.
Visits are recorded with a self-built system on a server in Norway, without cookies and with the IP address hashed before storage. The privacy policy describes exactly what is stored.
The app
The same calculator is available as an app for iPhone, with three things the website does not have: race time predictions across distances, training paces set from your VO₂max in Apple Health, and miles for those who run in them.
